PAKISTAN
The temporal progression is Indus c. 2000-1000 BC, a muddy "don't-know-much-about-it" period sometimes called "Baktrian" to c. 500 BC, Magadha-Maurya in the east c. 500-200 BC and contemporary Achaemenid Persian in the west, Greek c. 330-1 BC, Scythian (and Indo-Parthian) c. 100 BC - 100 AD, Kushan c. 50-400 AD, Hephthalite (Hun) c. 200-600 AD (and Sasanian in the west), Shahi or Hindushahi ("Turko - Hephthalite") c. 300-1000 AD, Islamic post-950 AD.  "Gandharan" is the name of the sculptural style evolved from Hellenistic Greek technique used at the height of the Kushan empire.  There is a big difference between the politics and culture of the north and central regions (Northwest Frontier, Punjab) and the south (Baluchistan, Sind).  The research on the whole country is very sketchy.
